Evidence of Simulation Theory
Help! I’m stuck in the matrix.
Do we live in a simulation? How do we know that this is real life?
It’s not just crazy conspiracy theorists asking these questions. In fact, many prominent scientists have publicly advocated for the sci-fi-esque “simulation theory.” They claim that many of the laws and characteristics of our universe are coincidental at best, and downright suspicious at worst.
The first clue lies in humanity’s existence itself. Earth just happens to reside in a “Goldilocks Zone,” which refers to planets having certain conditions that permit life to exist on their surfaces.
In the Goldilocks Zone, planet temperatures cannot be too hot or too cold. This is directly dependent on the distance of the planet from a star. On Earth, we are close enough to the Sun so that greenhouse gases can trap heat, allowing the presence of liquid water. But, we are also far enough away from the Sun so that water doesn’t immediately boil and become steam.
In contrast is the completely uninhabitable surface of Venus. Temperatures are about 900 degrees Fahrenheit, or 475 degrees Celsius. For context, that’s hot enough to melt lead. With this kind of heat, Venus does not have any water on its surface today.
